Topsy King
Gymnastics Coach
Topsy King was a competitive gymnasts for many years. She began in Rutland at Ski-Lan Gymnastics and then competed at the high school recreation level. Once at the University of Vermont, Topsy joined their Division 1 team as a bars and vault specialist. During her time at UVM, Topsy held the school record for the uneven bars, qualified for the regional ECAC Finals and served as team captain.
Upon graduating, Topsy went on to teach science at an all boys school in Massachusetts until her marriage to Andrew King. Andrew’s job brought Topsy back home to Vermont where she taught 4th grade at the Flood Brook School until the birth of her first son. These days, motherhood takes over Topsy’s life, raising Wes, Ben and Lissa, but coaching has reawakened her love of the sport. Witnessing the progress of a gymnast and the transformation into confident young women fills her heart.
