Bonnie grew up in a myriad of places around the US and started training in gymnastics at a young age, instantly falling in love. Movement and athleticism have been an integral part of her life ever since. Growing up in a family of artists, dance was a natural progression and at age thirteen she left her gymnastics career behind to intensively study classical ballet at the Milwaukee Ballet Academy. She has also trained with Alonzo King Lines Ballet, Point Park University, and in 2014 she earned a BFA in contemporary dance and composition from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. Since graduating, Bonnie has danced, professionally, with Wildspace Dance and The Gina Laurenzi Dance Project as well as teaching at the Milwaukee Ballet school, Danceworks and other dance studios around the Milwaukee area. Her choreography was has been selected to be performed at the American College Dance Festival and she has been selected to choreograph for Lake Arts Project, for the last three years. In 2016 Bonnie received her 200 hour yoga and meditation certification from the Hari Om Yoga Vidya School in Rishikesh, India. She finds it to be a great honor to share the philosophy and practice of yoga with fellow practitioners.
Bonnie is currently attending Green Mountain College, pursuing wilderness and outdoor therapy. She believes in an integrative approach to teaching, encouraging a healthy lifestyle, creativity and expression, treating kids as individuals, and helping them to develop skills that are applicable for whatever they choose to pursue in their lives. She is thrilled to be working with gymnasts again and excited to be a part of the community at Cobra.
