NIA Dance with Darby Gorham or Linda McCuen
NIA is a super fun workout for your body and mind that incorporates elements of modern, jazz, and Duncan dance as well as martial arts. NIA addresses the body’s five main sensations: flexibility, strength, mobility, agility and stability. You will sweat and smile, while moving your body to some truly amazing music. Everyone welcome: no dance experience necessary.

TRIBAL BELLYDANCE with Shelby Collett
This ancient dance form will allow you to strengthen your body and spirit, while celebrating your femininity. Taught in the style of the Gypsy Caravan Dance Company by certified teacher, Shelby Jones, basic moves and combinations will be introduced in a fashion to stimulate learning and confidence building. Intermediate classes are recommend for those with previous tribal dance experience. Sisterhood of the Silk Road Performance Troupe is by invitation only.

LET YOUR YOGA DANCE with Stephanie Jones
Yoga Dance is a joyful and inspirational journey through the chakras. This practice combines yoga postures, simple choreography, free expressive movement, and relaxation. It is a sacred dance of the multi-dimensional self, bringing fun and healing to your body, mind, and spirit. No experience is necessary, and all are welcome. Come with an open heart and a desire to move to music from an authentic and pure space.

MODERN DANCE with Erika Schmidt
Erika Schmidt will offer Sunday morning Modern Dance classes at Cobra’s Studio Serpentine from January through April 2020. Class content will vary week to week with focus on modern dance technique, improvisation and composition, and an occasional jazz dance class. Modern Dance is about our physicality, movement and dancing. The warm-up is straightforward and simple, readying our bodies and minds with an emphasis on alignment, physical clarity. Through phrase work and improvisation we hone our skills, apply our knowledge, and deepen the understanding, intuition and intelligence in our bodies as we arrive at dancing together.
First, Second & Third Sunday of the month – 9:30-10:45 AM
AFRICAN DANCE with Shelby Jones or Margaret Dunne
These classes are a fabulous physical and emotional workout! You will find yourself smiling, sweating and enjoying the incredible and diverse movements of traditional West African dances! Live drumming with drummers from Drum Journey’s of Earth!
